Experienced Spider Exterminators

While most spiders are harmless and provide beneficial insect control, there are some species that pose a potential threat to humans. Spiders like black widows and brown recluses are venomous and have the potential to cause serious damage to people and animals if bitten. That said, these spiders are not aggressive and usually only bite humans when disturbed. At EcoGuard Pest Management we are experienced and knowledgeable in all forms of spider treatment methods from local treatment to web clearing. EcoGuard utilizes integrated pest management (IPM) and have been providing spider control services since 2008. We understand how difficult it is for most people to deal with arachnids as they generally cause fear and anxiety. However, our goal is to ensure that spiders do not get a chance to reproduce and cause an infestation.

EcoGuard also offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all of our customers and we stand by our promise to eradicate your problem until the very last spider is gone. That spider control guarantee comes with every service and if they come back, then so do we, at no additional cost. We are standing by to give you a free estimate and to help you set your first spider pest control service appointment. Give us a call today!

Spider Information

EcoGuard Pest Management is a leader in spider control methodology & service.

Spiders are classified as arachnids which indicate that they have 8 legs, multiple sets of eyes, and 2 primary body segments. The cephalothorax contains the eyes, fangs, mouth, and legs while the abdomen contains the genital structures, spiracles, and the spinnerets. These spinnerets are what are used to spin spider silk to assist with capturing a spiders’ next meal. Many types of spiders spin webs while a few species tend to hunt for their prey. This spider silk is often seen as unsightly when seen in a home but the silk itself is elastic, strong, and sticky. The silk can be used to construct the spider’s home, trap insects, and construct egg sacs.

For the most part, all spiders hide in areas that generally go undisturbed. Given that, it is common to find spiders in exterior harborage areas like piles of firewood, in storage areas, etc. Sometimes spiders will also make their way inside a home via small openings if they are in search of food, water, mates, or shelter. The presence of spiders in a home generally indicates that there are enough food sources to stay which could indicate a bigger pest problem. Once a spider has taken residence, they will usually spin a web close to where they are most comfortable. This means that the webs will be close to where they can trap prey, can have easy access to sources of moisture, and will remain undisturbed.

Given enough time, female spiders will produce egg sacs which will turn into spiderlings. Depending on the species, some female spiders have the potential to produce over 4000 spiders in a lifetime which is why spiders can get out of hand quickly if not addressed and controlled appropriately.

Inspection & Identification

A licensed spider extermination technician will search a property for webs and other areas that spiders might use as harborage points. The inspection will also result in a discussion on preventative measures that can be implemented to prevent spiders in the future.

Chemical Pesticide Application

Our licensed technicians will lay down an exterior perimeter pesticide application as a barrier to prevent spiders from entering a home. Not only will this prevent spiders, but it will also prevent other bugs they prey on from entering as well which should reduce the available resources spiders need. In addition to the exterior application, interior will also be sprayed in areas that are potential harborage sites or entry points to ensure that the poisons are left to infect any new spiders that might take residence.

Web Removal

Once an area has been treated any remaining webs can be removed. These are often in tough to reach areas inside and outside of your home so having a professional come clean areas that might get overlooked will ensure that all webbing is found and eliminated.

  • Why am I finding a lot of spiders in my house?
