Why Professional Ant Treatment is Necessary

satisfaction-guaranteed-pest-control

We understand how difficult ants are to get under control. Ant queens can lay up to 800 eggs in one day and there can be multiple colonies that need to be eliminated. In addition, ant workers travel far and wide in search of food and resources while leaving chemical pheromones for other ants to follow which can lead thousands of ants into your home. These pests are capable of finding the smallest entry points in foundation and wall cracks and will contaminate your family’s food sources in addition to potentially causing structural damage. EcoGuard’s mission is to provide you with peace of mind with regular on-going ant services so our technicians can identify signs of ants and eliminate them as soon as they start to appear. Our services provide:

  • An inspection of your property to locate where ants are active and where ant colonies exist
  • Safe and correct handling of chemical pesticides used to treat ant colonies
  • Expertise that ensures that ants, their colonies, and their queens are treated effectively and efficiently
  • Professional prevention advice that will reduce the likelihood that ants return
  • Peace of mind knowing that your ant problem will be eliminated completely

EcoGuard offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all of our customers, and we stand by our promise to eradicate your ant problem until the very last ant is gone. That ant control guarantee comes with every service and if the ants come back, then so do we, at no additional cost. Step 3: Exclusion – After the pests are eradicated, exclusion tactics will be implemented to seal any gaps and block any unnecessary openings to help keep pests from reentering your home.

Step 4: Maintain – Once initial treatment is completed, services will continue to ensure that any remaining pests are eliminated as well as continue to provide preventative support.

EcoGuard Pest Management prides itself on using the products with the least environmental impact.  Some of our customers opt for our all-natural pest solutions which is why we offer all natural or green ant control solutions that might be a good fit for your situation.

At EcoGuard Pest Management we are experienced and knowledgeable with all types of ant treatment options. Every time we treat your property, we will inspect for ant colonies and treat any that are discovered to ensure the colony collapses. If you have ants invading your home call EcoGuard today!

Local Spot Treatment – Ants that have foraged inside will be killed instantaneously with low toxicity chemical pesticide applications. This will help eliminate pheromone trails that lead ants to the food source they were contaminating.

Exterior Perimeter Treatment – This exterior application is designed to prevent ants from making their way inside a home or business by laying down a protective barrier. Once applied, ants can’t cross this line of defense and will not be able to gain entry via small cracks and openings.

Ant Bait Poisons – Poison bait systems are great if ants have made it inside and an infestation needs to be controlled. The poison is picked up by worker ants and returned to the colony which then causes the colony to collapse from the inside out as the rest of the colony will succumb to the poison.

All Natural / Organic Ant Treatment – EcoGuard offers an all-natural ant treatment option designed to be eco friendly and safe for the environment as well as your children and pets.

Ant Information

Identifying Ants

There are over 700 different species of ants that are found in the United States. These small insects are typically brown or black and have 6 legs. The legs are connected to their thorax which is the middle segment of their body that connects their head and abdomen. While most ant species share the same general characteristics, there are some small differences that require some nuance in a targeted pest control strategy. This is why EcoGuard’s years of experience and training help us be the best when it comes to getting rid of ants.

Ant Behavior

Ants are social insects that live in colonies and reproduce at alarming rates that can reach numbers in the hundreds of thousands. Ants will originate outside of a home and then travel inside in search of food for the colony. If that wasn’t bad enough, ants will sometimes create satellite colonies inside of a home which can cause damages if unnoticed for some time. This presents another problem because even if the internal satellite colony is eliminated, its only a matter of time before it is reestablished by the external colony.

Ant Colony Hierarchy

In addition, each ant colony has their own social structure with each ant playing a specific role. These castes are generally broken down into workers, reproductives, and the ant queen. Workers are generally the ant class that you will find foraging for food inside your home and these annoying pests will leave chemical pheromone trails that other ants from their colony can follow once a food source is found. This is why you will often see lines of ants following the same trail when they become noticeable inside your home or business.

Reproductives, or swarmers, are the winged ants that are less invasive but will often leave in search of new locations to start another colony. While this ant class is less likely to be found in or around your home, if you notice swarmers outside there is a good chance that they are trying to establish a colony close by. This is usually the first indicator that ants may be trying to infiltrate your property. Regardless of which type of ants are detected, EcoGuard’s professional ant treatment services will help eradicate any colony that becomes a problem.

Preventing Ants

Ants are typically attracted to the resources they need to sustain their colony and their ant queen. By eliminating sources of food and water as well as access points, ant can be deterred from entering your home. Ant exclusion requires that small gaps that ants use to access your home are sealed. This can be done by using caulk to seal cracks and crevices.

Ant FAQs

  • What is the best pest control for ants?

There are many ways to get rid of ants in your home but not all methods will kill off the colony so they might keep coming back. If there are only a few ants making their way in straight white vinegar will kill ants on contact and repel them. This is also a good way to clean a home to prevent ants. That said, if there are lines of ants indicating an infestation, EcoGuard provides guaranteed ant control services that will help eliminate the problem starting with the colony.

  • Can a pest control get rid of ants?

Some species of ants can be controlled using baits while other species might require much more targeted methods. To get rid of ants completely, it is necessary to eliminate the colony they came from otherwise they will keep coming back. EcoGuard pest control professionals have years of experience and training to ensure we are able to combat any type of ant that might be causing problems.

  • How much does it cost for pest control to get rid of ants?

For most infestations, an ant control service will generally start at $150 for a one time visit from an exterminator. That said, EcoGuard prices competitively and recommends on going ant services to prevent future ant infestations from reaching the point where it requires costly services after that initial visit.

  • How do I get rid of ant permanently?

The only way to permanently get rid of ants is to ensure that the colony is exterminated. It usually helps to have trained and licensed technicians who can identify where a colony is to ensure that the proper steps are taken to eliminate the colony including the queen.

  • What stops ants from coming in the house?

There are preventative steps that individuals can take like storing food in sealed containers, cleaning up food, and sealing cracks but the best way to keep ants out is to lay down a protective barrier on the outside of a home or business.
